Our Story

My husband and I fell in love with this old 1970’s home. When we found it she was up to her chin in wall paper, every floral pattern you can imagine. There was a feel about it though we could not deny. A warmth, a sense of belonging, almost as though for a moment time had stopped. I loved that, for every waking hour seems to evade us. She was full of texture, life and love. The architectural ripple on the handmade bricks spoke of the gentlemen’s craftsmanship and the passion he had to not just build his family a home but his desire to be creative and proud of what he did. You see we are only the second owners of this unique home, so it seems only right that we love it as much as Mr Cornwall did for all those years prior.

As such we wanted to preserve all it’s beauty. Ok maybe not all the wall paper but many of the features that made this home special. One of the features we were keen to keep was the lighting. The vintage lights really set the tone for a relaxing evening. You don’t find style quite like this anymore. We also loved the glass paneled doors, the texture and light these filter in are second to none. I could go on about all these little things that we love but I think I might just let you discover them and see for yourself why we love it.

Change is of course inevitable. So while we passionately preserved the past we also entwined some added luxuries to make it even more special. You see I have an amazingly creatively minded and immensely capable husband who not only could facilitate my primitive design ideas but himself designed and crafted the most beautiful luxurious outdoor bathroom. A private oasis with a freestanding tub to soak an evening away while you watch the colours of the sky fade into the night. Or maybe a shower drenched in the morning sunlight. Perhaps your thing is a coffee by the tranquil sound of the waterfall wall. Yep, you read that right! We have a waterfall feature that trickles over a stone wall down into a pond below. He really has created a beautifully relaxing courtyard with something for everyone! I am pretty lucky. Now I just need him to build me an outdoor bath….
